John Quincy Adams, the sixth US president, was born in 1767 and died in 1848. He is one of America’s founding fathers and is also known as the “Father of American Diplomacy,” his tenure as president is one of peace.

John Quincy Adams was born on July 11th, 1767, to a family with an extensive public service history. His father, John Adams, would go on to become America’s second president. He was a graduate of Harvard College. He earned a law degree from Harvard in 1790 and passed the bar exam. He became a member of the Massachusetts State Senate and served as an ambassador to Russia, Prussia, and the Netherlands. In 1826 he defeated Andrew Jackson to become president. Adams’ presidency ended in 1830 when he lost his re-election campaign against Jackson.
