Ray Dalio is the founder of the hedge fund Bridgewater Associates, which was once the world’s largest hedge fund. He is an American business magnate and investor and also the founder of investment firm Bridgewater Associates.

He was born in Jackson Heights, Queens, in 1949. His father was a jazz musician, and his mother was an office worker. Ray went to school at Long Island’s public schools before attending Ithaca College for graduate school. After he graduated from Ithaca, he worked as a computer engineer for Honeywell Information Systems before founding Bridgewater Associates.
